Improving your child's English
Improving your child's English language skills will be one of the most important aspects of their trip to the UK. All activities your children do will be done in English and they will have the opportunity to hear and speak it every day.
On our Homestay programmes, which include English language teaching at a British Council accredited language school, there will be English language lessons each week where your children will be given the chance to learn English. There will be a total of 24 hours of actual English teaching during these lessons. The children will be put into appropriate groups according to English speaking ability in our own group.
Our aim is to improve your child's ability to communicate more fluently and confidently in English.
Through being exposed to situations as individuals or small groups and using the language, your children will gain a huge amount of confidence when they speak English. During the homestay your children's pronunciation will have improved and they should be able to talk accurately and fluently through many different scenarios.
English Role Play
It is important when learning English to practice listening and speaking as much as possible. Group sizes are kept small so each child will have the opportunity to learn, speak and be corrected much quicker.
The English your children learn will be based around, but not limited to, the following scenarios:
- introducing oneself
- going shopping
- places they will be visiting
- ordering food at a restaurant
- everyday conversation while at home
- expressing opinion
- receiving and giving instructions
